We were in the same mom morning Bible study at church, all desperate for social time and encouragement as we faced those early motherhood struggles. It feels like yesterday and a million…

Home Session in Huntersville

These faces will probably look pretty familiar to some of you. I’ve been photographing Jody’s family since their kids were tiny. I always love to see what Jody’s vision is each year for their family photos. We’ve done fancy uptown Charlotte pictures, a rustic General Store session, a statement session in NoDa, a boho style,…

The Power of Prints

Over Mother’s Day weekend, we went to my grandparents’ home. This is a monthly thing we do where we meet up with our extended family to celebrate holidays and birthdays. • So much yes! Great advice! I have tried to tell my clients the same thing. I can’t believe how many of them have told me that printing at Walmart would be just “fine”.ReplyCancel

Deck the Halls

Hi, I’m Elizabeth. A current hairstylist in the Charlotte area. I like the work you’ve put into your portraits. I didn’t know if you’d like to collaborate sometime or ever need an on-site hairstylist? You’re welcome to take a look at my Instagram to see some of my work. Ermc_inc. Thank you for taking the time to read my email!

Beating a Case of the Grumps

So you’ve had your family’s portrait session booked for weeks. Outfits are picked, the location is perfect, and even the weather is cooperating. Everything is coming together perfectly until you sense a disturbance in the force… one of the little ones has a case of the grumps. Suddenly, you can feel your blood pressure rising…

  • I love that you shared this! As a photographer and a mom, I know both sides of the coin – and this is great information! Sometimes parents just need to know that it’s okay when their little ones are a bit grumpy, take some time to warm up, and need a few moments to snack or fully wake-up and engage. Great post for your clients! 😀ReplyCancel

  • Everything you said is completely true!!! My photography career started as mall Santa photographer. I’ve seen it all. I learned very quickly that you can’t make little ones do what they aren’t willing to.ReplyCancel
