Fall 2018 Fashion

It’s that time of year again!! While, yes, it may be a little warm out still, it’s officially Fall (insert disco dance emoji), which means my calendar is filling up with senior and family portrait sessions, and I couldn’t be more excited!! I love doing these every portrait season. It’s fun to follow the trends and save my favorite looks (not always great for my wallet though 😉 ). So without further adieu, here is the Fall 2018 Fashion post!! All looks are pulled from a few of my fave places to shop… vestique, Free People, and Anthrolopologie.

Retro

I’m sure you’ve seen it floating around instagram lately, especially among the smaller boutiques. The 70’s are back baby! Bell bottoms and all. I remember looking at my parents’ photos of when they were teenagers thinking how cool their clothes were. Bell bottoms tried to make an appearance in the 90’s, but our generation just wasn’t ready for them yet. haha. I think these looks would be so cool for a senior session.

Wine, Orange, Mustard, & Olive

Basically, if you could eat it, then the color is probably in. 😉 Nothing says Fall style like these beautiful muted, earthy tones.

Button/Zip Front Skirts

These are everywhere right now, especially in corduroy and suede. The only thing to keep in mind with these for photo sessions is posing options. The shorter and tighter the skirt (dresses too), the more limited we get with posing. Trust me, I get plenty of different looks, but many are standing shots since sitting gets a little tricky with these. But if you’re bringing outfit changes (which I love), then this is definitely an adorable style option!

Sweaters, Ponchos, and Pullovers

I mean, what’s a chilly Fall evening without a comfy favorite sweater? I love that brands are taking a basic sweater and finding ways to make them super cool and different. My biggest tip would be to layer. Not only will it create more visual interest in your photos, but it makes changing to another look a breeze! Take off that sweater, and you have another look right away!
