When I first met Mia at her consultation, I knew her session was going to be a fun one! She's friendly, chatty, ambitious, sweet, and knows what she wants. Mia was very up front that in no way did she want her senior photos to be like anyone else's. She's known for being over-the-top and extra, and her photos needed to reflect that. Her biggest requests were photos celebrating her nursing degree she's been working towards (she's not even graduated high school and already doing clinical work!). She also wanted some with her adorable red car. And finally she wanted a huge gown in front of a mansion.
Y'all just keep scrolling and let me know how I delivered... ;)
I knew exactly where I wanted to take her that would absolutely set her photos apart from all her friends. So off to the NC mountains we went!
There's nothing quite like the North Carolina mountains in the fall for senior photos. The air is clean and crisp, the colors are beautiful, and everyone in the little towns are all smiles as they duck in and out of locally owned shops. We even had a couple older ladies joke that I should take their picture instead. They were so cute. But Mia stole the show for sure. She didn't let the crowds faze her at all and was such a natural in front of the camera.
ALSO... future Wildflower seniors, take notes! I tell all of my seniors at their consultation to bring accessories. Jewelry, sunglasses, bags, hats... anything to not only add interest and pull together an outfit, but also to give your hands something to do. Look at how many cute looks we got for Mia's senior photos just by adding a bag and sunglasses!
After exploring the town, we went to our next spot for the main event. ;) I shot here before a few years ago back when I had a model team. When she mentioned big open fields next to a beautiful mansion, I knew this would be perfect for her "extra" personality. :) I cannot even begin to describe just how STUNNING Mia looked in this gown. So you're just going to have to look for yourself haha
I never know what I'm going to get when it comes to sunsets. Sometimes the sky is on fire and other times it's overcast. On Mia's session day, it was beautiful. Somewhere in between the two extremes which gave the most beautiful light and contrast to her beautiful self. She looked like she was in a movie, especially with those gorgeous NC mountains in the distance!
Look, if you're ever worried about your ideas being "too much"... DON'T! lol I'm all about taking your senior photos to the next level. Because when is the next time you're going to do something like this??? The next time you'll be professionally photographed, it'll likely be on your wedding day when it's about you and someone else. This time in your life is so quick, document it well!
Mia was such a dream to work with, and I'm so happy she wasn't afraid to go for it!!
