UNC Charlotte Grad Session
Edited to add: I sat down to write this Monday evening. I figured it was the perfect time to share it since graduation is right around the corner. It’s just more fun to post these when the excitement is still high. Little did I know what would transpire within the next 24 hours. I won’t recap any of that here, because I don’t want to take away from Cassidy’s grad session spotlight. But it also feels wrong not to mention anything at all, especially considering that UNC-Charlotte is my Alma Mater. So just know that I want to send my love, support, and encouragement to all of the UNCC students, faculty, staff, and families that were affected by the tragedy that took place on Tuesday.
Most teens can’t wait to graduate high school and head to a big university, often far away from their home and family. It’s a fabulous way to spread your wings, learn more about yourself, and gain some independence. Me? I’m a natural homebody. I tried to “go away” (to Greensboro, lol), but I ended up coming back and finishing my college years at UNC-Charlotte. I truly felt at home there. I made some friends, went to some basketball games, and loved what I studied. I was even part of the original class that petitioned for a football team!
Why am I telling you all of this?
Because of my history with the school, it makes it extra special when I get to go back to the campus and photograph a UNC-Charlotte grad session! It’s just so very nostalgic to walk next to Fretwell and remember my professors (‘sup Rutledge!), walking to class with my now husband, and all the fun memories made at this campus. You may remember a couple years ago, I did a grad session for the most adorable couple ever. Well now it’s Will’s little sister Cassidy’s turn to graduate!
Cassidy is such a cool girl. I mean, clearly she’s gorgeous. But she was also a lot of fun to chat with as we walked AAAAAALLLLLLLL around the campus. LOL. Seriously, y’all… if you’re familiar with the campus… we started at Fretwell, walked to the engineering side, then to the sign, and then back to Fretwell. haha! But it was honestly great seeing all the new pieces of the campus I didn’t know about. And what about all of those gorgeous Spring flowers?? Perfect timing, for sure.
But the best part? She brought her CUTE puppy Milo along for her grad session!! OMG you guys. He is precious. I can see why she’s obsessed. Her mom came to help out with Milo too, so it was a lot of fun chatting with the both of them throughout the session.
It was so fun capturing this super fun stage of Cassidy’s life, and I know she’s going to go on to do awesome things. Congrats Cassidy!!
