Lauren's University of Tennessee College Senior Experience

When I tell my seniors not to blink, because time start moving a LOT faster after high school... this is what I mean. lol Lauren was one of my past Wildflower seniors. She also was one of my assistants for awhile. Over the years, we've stayed in touch. We'll get together over summer break or for our tradition of dinner at Pinky's over winter break. Fast forward a few years, and now she's graduating with an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee. She made sure I knew I had no choice but to drive out there for her College Experience session. Lol Her parents got us the most gorgeous hotel room near campus and the day of her shoot, we spent the afternoon getting brunch and Lauren giving us a tour. We got to see where she's been an RA for the last couple years, some of her favorite places, meet some of her friends, and just have the best day hanging out with her.

After our afternoon of Lauren playing tour guide, we headed back to her place so she could get ready for her college senior session! We were able to map out all the spots we'd hit and when earlier that day, so we had our game plan set. She chose the cutest little dress for her cap & gown photos. I also made sure to get plenty without too, just for fun. Do y'all like her makeup? I helped with that. ;)

UT is such a beautiful campus! We honestly fell in love with that whole area. It reminded me a lot of a cleaner Asheville (and I love Asheville). The cute local restaurants, lots of hills haha, and architecture. We hit all the popular spots around campus, and ones that meant something to Lauren. She worked hard for that Engineering degree, so we made sure to get the department sign and building. We of course included the iconic Ayres Hall and the pedestrian bridge with the huge "University of Tennessee" letters.

She really wanted to hit a couple of the other important campus areas, but those were still in insanely harsh sun which I knew she wouldn't like. Even though I bring my own lighting, if the sun is positioned in front of her, all we'll get is squinty eyes. lol So we headed to downtown Knoxville where she swapped for her Manning jersey to show a little Tennessee pride in a fun more casual way.

After we let the sun calm down a bit, we headed back over to the UT campus where we got photos of her in front (not on!) the seal, at Neyland Stadium (where there's always construction going on, but we did our best), the Torchbearer statue, the stadium in the background, and her engineering building.

We seriously had the BEST time as always with Lauren. We ended the day hanging out at Yee-Haw Brewing Co and watching the Vols game with her friends. It was the perfect ending to an incredible day. I'm so proud of Lauren and how hard she's worked to get where she is (and will soon be moving to SC for her big girl job!). I'm even more grateful for her friendship over the years and that my job has led me to amazing people like her. Gaining lasting friendships from my seniors was honestly a surprise perk of what I do, and it's been my favorite part for sure! :)
